“MECHATRONIC” – DESCRIPTION
A lot of Volkswagen group cars , are equipped with 7-speed DSG transmission (i.e. Volkswagen Golf, Passat, Polo e Touran, Skoda Fabia, Seat Leon and Audi A3).
The heart of the DSG transmission is the “mechatronic control unit”: the set of solenoid valves, activators and electronics. This is the device that allows clutch insertion and handling of gear.
The control unit works with hydraulic oil. In the 6 gear DSG, the oil is the one that lubricates the mechanic part and cools the clutches, while for the seven gear, it is a dedicated oil different from that which lubricates the gears.
If the “system” is blocked, the mechatronic suffers an intense work and, above all, a considerable heating, which can cause serious problems. On the seven gears, DSG electro-hydraulic unit, in fact, a serious problem has been found: during operation, the control unit can run in short, with the result of having the mechatronics and the electrohydraulic unit completely out of order.
The only thing that can be done is the replacement of mechatronic.
We can supply:
- Electro-hydraulic unit + Control unit (Mechatronic complete) – € 670.00
- Control unit (electronic part only) – € 490.00
